Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the Sentry Discord application ("the Bot"), operated by Progames_exe ("we", "us"). Adding Sentry to a Discord server, or using its commands, means you accept them.
Contact: the Sentry Support server, or support@sentrybot.net.
The short version
Sentry is free, provided as-is, and run by one person. It does what your server tells it to. You are responsible for how you configure it and for the moderation decisions made in your server. We can change or stop it at any time, and we are not liable for what it does on your instructions.
1. What Sentry is
Sentry is a free moderation and utility bot for Discord. It provides moderation commands, automated filtering, verification, logging, tickets, invite tracking, ban appeals and related tools.
It is operated by an individual, not a company. There is no paid tier, no subscription, and nothing is sold.
2. Who may use it
You must meet Discord's own minimum age requirement — 13, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher. You must also follow the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Nothing here overrides them.
To add Sentry to a server you need the Manage Server permission in that server.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Sentry to:
- Break Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or any applicable law
- Harass, abuse, threaten or target anyone
- Evade Discord's own moderation, rate limits or safety systems
- Mass-moderate members without cause, or operate raid, spam or self-bot tooling
- Build profiles of people, or make decisions about anyone's employment, housing, credit or insurance using anything Sentry records
- Attempt to overload, exploit, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Bot or the systems it runs on
- Resell, rebrand or present Sentry as your own service
We may remove Sentry from any server, or block any user or server from using it, where these terms are broken — without notice where the breach is serious.
4. Your responsibility as a server
Sentry acts on the instructions of people in your server, with the permissions your server granted it. You are responsible for:
- Which members can use which commands, and the permissions you grant the Bot
- How the automated features are configured — automod thresholds, spam traps, anti-raid and anti-nuke limits, verification — and the consequences of those settings
- Moderation decisions taken in your server, whether by a person or by a feature you enabled
- Telling your members what you record about them, where your own local law requires it
Features such as automod, spam traps, anti-raid and anti-nuke ban, kick, timeout, quarantine and delete automatically once enabled. You choose to enable them and you choose their settings. Review them before relying on them.
5. Availability
Sentry is provided free of charge and with no guarantee of uptime, availability or data preservation. It may be unavailable because of hosting failures, Discord outages, maintenance or changes to Discord's API, and it may be changed, restricted or discontinued at any time.
Features may be added, altered or removed. Where a change is significant, it will be announced in the support server.
If Sentry is ever shut down permanently, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the support server where it is within our control to do so, so servers have time to move elsewhere.
6. Data
Sentry stores server settings, moderation records, ban appeals and invite records as described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Data belonging to a server is deleted 14 days after Sentry is removed from it, or immediately on request.
Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Backups exist and cover roughly the last week, but no guarantee is made that data can be recovered.
7. No warranty
Sentry is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the Bot. This includes, without limitation: members banned, kicked, timed out, quarantined or restricted — whether by a command, a misconfiguration or an automated feature; messages deleted, including by /purge, /nuke or automod; channels locked; roles removed; lost settings, moderation history or invite records; downtime; and any dispute between you and your members.
Sentry is free, so no money has changed hands and there is nothing to refund. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid to use Sentry, which is nothing.
You use Sentry at your own risk.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The date at the top is updated when they do.
Material changes are announced in the support server at least 30 days before they take effect. Smaller corrections take effect when the date changes. Continuing to use Sentry after a change means accepting the updated terms.
10. Ending use
You may stop at any time by removing Sentry from your server. We may end your access as described in section 3. Sections 6 to 8 survive the end of these terms.
11. Governing law
The developer is based in India, and these terms are governed by Indian law. Nothing here removes any right you have under the law of the country you live in that cannot be waived by agreement — including your rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR if you are in the EU, EEA or UK.
