Overview

A Discord server management bot that covers the everyday work

Most servers end up running a ticket bot, a role bot and an invite tracker side by side. Sentry does all three, plus the small jobs, in one bot set up with slash commands.

Tickets

Free Discord ticket system

Members open a ticket from a panel, staff answer it in a private channel, and nothing is lost when it closes: if the transcript can't be delivered anywhere, the channel stays open.

  1. 01

    Member opens a ticket

They pick a category, describe the problem in a short form, and get a private numbered channel.

  2. 02

    Staff claims it

Anyone with Manage Messages presses Claim, so two people don't answer the same ticket.

  3. 03

    Issue resolved

Staff or the member presses Close Ticket and can give a reason.

  4. 04

    Transcript saved

An HTML transcript goes to your log channel and to the member by DM.

  • Up to 5 categories

Each panel can offer up to five menu choices, each with a short description. With none, the panel is a single button.

  • Staff role and add/remove

staff_role decides who sees tickets. /ticket add and /ticket remove change access inside a ticket.

  • Auto-close

close_after closes a ticket after 1–168 quiet hours, transcript and all.

  • Ratings and blacklist

After a claimed ticket closes, the member can rate the staff member 1–5. /ticket stats shows averages; /ticket blacklist blocks abusers.

Roles

Discord role management made simple

Autorole gives up to five roles to every new member, and skips bots unless you say otherwise. Self-role panels are button panels: members click to add a role and click again to remove it.

  • /roles posts a panel with up to 5 roles, each with its own button label, plus an optional title and description.
  • /role add and /role remove let staff change one member's roles with a reason.
  • Sentry can only hand out roles below its own, so keep its role near the top.

Invites

Track your Discord server's invites

Sentry compares invite counts as people join to work out who brought them. Each inviter's total splits into invites that stayed, members who left, and fake invites.

/inviteleaderboard ranks the top inviters.

Counts can take up to an hour to register. Sentry needs Manage Server to read invites, and Discord doesn't always say which invite was used, for example with a vanity URL, so some joins can't be credited to anyone.

Automation

Automate everyday server tasks

Four tools that handle the repetitive jobs. Each one is a slash command; there is nothing to configure outside Discord.

/autoresponder

Autoresponder

Reply to a phrase automatically. Match it exactly, at the start of a message, or anywhere as a whole word. Up to 25 per server, with a 5-second cooldown so channels don't fill with replies.

/autoresponder add trigger:how do i verify response:Head to #verify, {user}! match:Contains
Placeholders: {user} {username} {server} {members}
/verify

Verification panel

Post a panel with a button. Clicking it gives the verified role and, if you set one, removes the unverified role. It's a simple gate, not a CAPTCHA or bot check.

/verify setup channel:#verify verified_role:@Member unverified_role:@New
/verify panel reposts it; /verify disable turns it off.
/poll

Polls

Start a native Discord poll with up to 5 answers. Voting stays open from 1 hour to 1 week (24 hours by default), and you can allow more than one choice.

/poll question:Next game night? answer1:Friday answer2:Saturday multiple:true
/say

Announcements

Post a message as Sentry in any channel. Add a title to turn it into an announcement card. Pings are off unless you allow them.

/say channel:#news title:Server update message:New roles are live in #roles.

Setup

Getting started

Set up only what your server needs. Each tool works on its own.

Full command docs →
Before you start
  • Setup commands need Manage Server. /ticket needs Manage Channels.
  • Keep Sentry's role above any role it gives out, or it can't assign it.
  • Autoresponders need the Message Content intent to read messages, and autorole needs the Server Members intent.
  1. 1

    Post a ticket panel

Add up to five categories, a staff role, and a channel for transcripts.

    /ticket panel staff_role:@Support category1:Report a user category2:General question close_after:48
  2. 2

    Give new members a role

Every member who joins gets this role. Add up to five.

    /autorole add role:@Member
  3. 3

    Post a self-role panel

    Optional

Up to five roles per panel, each with an optional button label.

    /roles channel:#roles role1:@Events label1:Events role2:@Art
  4. 4

    Add a verification gate

    Optional

Give new members @New with autorole and hide channels from it; verifying swaps it for @Member.

    /verify setup channel:#verify verified_role:@Member unverified_role:@New
  5. 5

    Answer common questions

    Optional

    Sentry replies whenever someone asks.

    /autoresponder add trigger:rules response:Read #rules, {user}. match:Contains
  6. 6

Check invites and run a poll

    Optional

Anyone can check invites; polls work in any channel.

    /invites /inviteleaderboard /poll question:Movie night? answer1:Yes answer2:No

Free Discord utilities, in the same bot as your moderation

Tickets, roles, invite tracking, verification, autoresponders, polls and every utility command are free. They sit alongside Sentry's moderation and security tools, all set up with slash commands.

  • Ticket system
  • Autorole
  • Self-role panels
  • Verification
  • Invite tracking
  • Autoresponders

Good to know

  • No web dashboard

Everything is configured with slash commands inside Discord.

  • Buttons, not reactions

Self-role and verification panels use buttons. Emoji reaction roles aren't supported.

  • Invites aren't perfect

Some joins can't be credited to an inviter, and counts can take up to an hour.

  • Simple autoresponders

Trigger and reply with a few placeholders. It isn't a custom command or scripting system.
